Zero Point (In Production)

Synopsis

To all the lives that have been lost at the world’s zero point…

When does a filmmaker decide to flee his homeland where he grew up, which shaped him and his work, and which created the essence of his memories? And when he does, what can he reveal with his camera on his neck, recording every second of this plight… in a way safeguarding it from the fragility of his memory?

In this feature documentary, we witness Kurdish filmmaker Kutbettin Cebe’s journey starting from the coast of “Meriç” in Turkey to the coast of “Evros” in Greece. Cebe crossed the border with a camera he wore on his chest to the Meriç/Evros zero point and recorded the entirety of his journey. He didn’t know this was the first of many “zero points” he would reach in his journey of becoming a refugee in Europe.
